Randy Kernus

Born March 18th 1960. My life changed instantly on May 19th, 2011 due to a stroke. My stroke was a result of an AVM that begin to bleed with absolutely no warning. As a result of the stroke I have a permanent diagnosis of Aphasia. I also have some peripheral vision loss. I am one of the lucky ones. Recovery is slow however it gets better. I am married and have a young adult daughter and my faithful companion Rudy, our dog - they have all been on this journey with me.

Prior to my stroke, I was a UPS driver. I was physically fit and I worked out every day and it did not stop because I had a stroke. What has changed, and that I call “my new normal” is my desire to help other survivors.

I am a Stroke Survivor Coach and I am proud of what I am doing.
